NEVER SEEN . MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2024

"sectio", 2024
"sectio" comes to life from the idea of revealing the true essence of matter through the act of cutting. This tool, the section, thus becomes a means of understanding to explore and get to know a body, an object or a space in depth.
The seat becomes a visual archetype, an evocative dialogue between architecture and graphic design. It is like an ideogram, a contemporary hieroglyphic, a graphic symbol that occupies and dominates the surrounding space.
In this project, the primordial character of the form merges with the dynamism of the material and colour, which varies according to the thickness of the object and reacts unpredictably to the changing quality of the light that permeates it.
"sectio" is designed as an individual body or to be assembled with other units to create more complex compositions that meet the needs and style of the surrounding environment.
évoque Lab is a contemporary design studio based in Milan and co-founded by architects Emanuele Longo and Paola Frascerra. Thanks to their architectural and cultural background, combined with continuous training, évoque Lab is dedicated to defining new ways of imagining contemporary space through innovative visual aesthetics. Using a research-based methodology, their projects are imbued with cultural references and personal experiences. In constant dialogue between the digital and physical realms, the Italian duo has an elegant and authentic approach, inclined towards a clean and graceful taste.
