EX FIGURA

Casa Infinita, 2023

Casa Infinita is the work in progress from EX FIGURA and Jean Jacques N’djoli. Entirely designed as a virtual space, it let go of many of architecture’s traditional constraints such as mass, continuity or gravity. It proposes a series of rooms that, in a digital setting, can be made to function much closer to the needs and preferences of each user.

Without the need for floors, ceilings, walls or any other typical element, every space is limitless in its shape and purpose. The goal was just to create environments that answer everyone's inner desire of comfort, pleasure and self-improvement. The image reveals an iteration of a modular sofa, closed in on itself - an exponential multiplication of private commodity. The entire room revolves around a central light, allowing for one or several users to use it as they wish.

EX FIGURA is at its core a multidisciplinary studio that operates with different forms of art. Combining the knowledge and experience of people working with art, architecture, design and others, the goal of every project is to create a strategy that, taking advantage of the site, can put forward an experience that is meaningful towards anyone that uses it. After designing and building multiple spaces and objects in different parts of the world, such as Paris, Milan, London, Porto, among others, the studio always sees it as fundamental to collaborate with various people from many backgrounds in every new endeavor.
